Hellooooooo!

Hello to all! I'm currently in my house in Eltham, Victoria, Australia!

Do I sound excited?

Actually, I'm not. =.='

Anyway, my orientation just ended this week, it was fun, especially the Student Carnival , which was circus-like. Every First-years was assigned a host group, to tour around the universitiy.

Mine consists of all local Australians. So it started off with an ice-breaker sort of game.

"So who here is born in Summer?" , the host asked.

I was borned in July. Unsure, I asked bluntly,

" You mean, Australian Summer or UK Summer?"

Something in their eyes tells me I'm stupid to ask such question.

Instead, they roared as if it was a joke, "That's a good one! You're funny!"

Just that, it was more of ...

a question.

ANYWAY, the campus was beautiful, with quaint architecturals as well as modern ones. I prefer the quaint ones, though my faculty is the latter. The seniors are generally very friendly and helpful.

This semester, I would be taking 4 subjects, Accounting Report and Analysis (ARA), Microeconomics, Quantitative Methods and Principles of Business Law. The mere sound of them is alien and I'm clueless as to what to expect. Something not too complicated for my simple brain, I hope. That, I can't really tell untill the course commences next monday.

As for at home, it is cozy and comfortable inside, cold and quiet outside. I guess I could use some peace, but sometimes, it gets so lifeless I get afraid. I'm truly thankful my brother is here with me, otherwise, I would have shed enough tears to teleport people over, a creative suggestion of Juls. haha.

Yea, I realised doing housework can be gratifying! It may sound unbelievable to take one whole hour to wipe a blind, but not so, for me, who has close to zilch hands on experience, apart from the intensive theory lessons grandma gave me before she returned to Malaysia.

So anyway, the work gets fun, when you timed yourself and realise you can wipe the last few blinds in 20 minutes!!! Though my brother claimed I worked like a snail, as he handled all : the garden, windows and toilets, while I only managed to wipe the blinds. But there were a good old 11 blinds okay! Plus you have to wipe both sides of the blinds, which makes 11 x 2 = 22 blinds! And I had to make several trips to the toilet to replace the water. I wasn't sure if he was listening to my explanation, oh well.

As I was wiping the blinds, all I had in my mind, was memories of the past : with friends and family. I make it a point to not tear, as we would meet really soon.

And today, I had my first video call with my family. Mei Yen flashed her idol's (mine too) picture in her purse, and I was truly jealous! Mei Ting (baby) was surprised to see me on screen and said,

"Mei Shan Jie Jie, pao pao!" (I held on)

and

" Wo Ai Ni" (I held on somemore)

and

she touched my face on the screen and said " sayang jie jie".

Tears were brimming in my eyes. And I touched her on the screen too.

********************************************************************************

Every morning, my alarm clock would ring at 6.30 am. It would go, "Tit tit, tit tit, tit tit....."

In fear that I would oversleep and miss the train, I made it a point to get up no matter how tired I was.

So usually, I would be in the toilet, which the window faced the backyard. And unmistakably I would hear from outside,

"Tit tit, tit tit, tit tit....."

I first thought I didn't switch my alarm off, but I was wrong. I didn't give that much a thought though.

The following morning, the same incident repeated, and I asked my brother if he had a similar alarm. He claimed not.

So the next morning, it happened again, and I realised the sound came from.....

the parrots outside my house.

Every morning without fail, after a mere minute my alarm goes off, they would be mimicking it. So I guess, it's okay if I sleep it off after switching my alarm off..

I'm not alone after all.

On a random note..

I feel like Snow White.

Whoz Mei Yen's and your idol???
Parrots wow! You must name them.
The subjects you are taking are the ones I would NEVER EVER take because it sounds so boring but so interesting to Li-Lin.
Have fun and please acquire an accent when you come back. And find an English name. xD I can always help you on that.

Acquire an accent? Hardly. though u tend to speak differently with the Caucasians here. so i will still be back with "la" and "ma".
