On two gals trotting Melbourne

Rach just left and should reach Sydney tomorrow morning by train. Here's something to look back at once you've arrived! =D

Overall, we toured Melbourne extensively, especially those art precincts: National Art of Gallery, Ian Potter Gallery and a sneak peak of Chloe (an infamous nude portrait) at the Young and Jackson's. One can just go on forever about the marvels of the Greek, Egyptian, Medieval (my favorite) and Contemporary art. Truly gratifying.

NGV

Feels like she's in Paris.. hehe

The glass ceiling =)

And not to forget the Shrine of Remembrance - where we enjoyed the magnificent view of the city skyline from afar and aloft, while taking in the beauty of this memorial itself.

The Entrance
Memorial wall

Rach =D

In Rach's words:"Like the sun creeping out from the corner"

And St. Paul Cathedral.

The Pipe Organ (reminds me of Beauty and the Beast)

Hallway

Koorie Heritage Trust Centre - Mostly about the origins of the Gunditjmara tribe, their oppression and ultimately their fights against discrimination.

Rach in the "cultural" lift

Boomerangs which tell the stories of three indigenous generations: Past (top), Present (middle) and Future (bottom)

Docklands - where the architecture innovations adorned the industrial park. State-of-the-art and futuristic, but lacking something we feel, felt very uninhabited. First time we took a city circle tram there and around =D

National Australia Bank (NAB) building - rather colorful eh?

I-dunno-what-but-looks-artistic-structure

Telstra Dome

It got so boring that we decided to revive that place abit, with the next best available - us! hahaha.. see!

Rach and Docklands (overlooking Victoria Harbour)!

Me and some unknown symbols

An elated Rach with the 101 Customs Building (reminds me of optical illusion)

City Circle Tram

Greenhouse - one of the best stops ever. A temporary exhibition over spring and summer, built entirely from recycled and recyclable materials.

GreenHouse

Walls of native strawberry plantations

Furniture made out of used signage, steels and fire hydrants

GreenHouse Cafe - totally environmental friendly, recycled wood for furniture and floor,
hays for ceiling

Then, Rach and I decided to drink some hot coffee (it was drizzling outside) and try some pastries. Chatted over lunch and it was totally relaxing with some slow, occasional jazz music.
Fancy your pastry served on wooden blocks, coffee served in jam jars, and using wooden cutleries?

Walk along the Yarra River, flowing along the city.

Princess Bridge and Victorian Art Centre

Eureka Tower, South Gates, PWC

And our movie marathon on Thurs - Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skulls, Get Smart and P.S. I Love You, and Friends marathon on Saturday night and ultimately *Drumrolls* HP craze on Fri - Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and today - Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

A bit of self-obsessed picture taking, with all kinda hats on Bourke Street Mall and Myers, with YOUR much lovable cap during train rides and in that luxurious lounge-like lobby in VAC! =p

Not to forget last night/this morning's girly talk hahaha, making you all groggy by 3.30 am. My bad. Should have started earlier haha. But, it was really great to be able to catch up with you and discuss the Chronicles of _____ *winks* Thanks for listening.. =)

As much as I enjoyed your pleasant company throughout the past week, I hope that you'll come back again! And bring your voice recorder for blackmails (haha) and of course your adventurous spirit to explore again! Have a safe journey home and we'll meet again back home =D

You are not an emo person either. =)
