When you're no longer a teen..

you're 20!

Here's a post to dedicate my thank-yous to you, you, you and you! (In order of occurence)

Firstly, to dad and mum + granny, aunts and family, for providing me a loving and nurturing family, for instilling the values I hold so closely to my heart! =) And for the pre-departure birthday cake and the beautiful, precious pairs of earrings!

To [S][A][M][P][A][T] Clan, for my first ever surprise birthday party, it was really memorable and from the bottom of my heart, I thank you for the awesome day ever. I didn't expect the gathering to turn out as a birthday surprise and sorry MJ for being mad at you! Especially happy to meet you UK/US/Taiwan peeps (and of course the Msia bunch) some of whom I haven't met for 2-3 years!! I actually wrote a proper post about it and saved it in my laptop, which now - sigh. RIP. Anyway, you guys are the best, I'm so thankful we are one big family - with members around the globe preaching the teachings of SAMPAT hahaha. Welcome Leying, the latest baptised member! And Thanks SAMPAT for the birthday bag, it's my new uni bag now!

To Mengs, because you are Mengs.

To Gugu, for the beautiful bracelet =)

To Sara, for your card and snail mail all the way from Brissie! Was reading it on the morning of my birthday on the train, smilling the widest smile, can you picture it? It was the most beautiful feeling. Catch up soon on Skype!

To Rachael, for your birthday blog post, and our 1-day spent back in Malaysia. Having the deepest heart-to-heart talk with our imaginations of the past and future playing as the landscape, followed by a hearty 10-song karaoke at the cosy, 2-sitter karaoke box in 1U! Thanks Rach for a memorable day.. I wish you the best in the UK.

To Kor and XW, for the gorgeous purse! And to Kor, for tolerating all my ah-forgot-keys-forgot-phone moments! haha! Promise I'll be more careful!

To Eric, Jillian, Julz and Brendan, for accompanying me in the afternoon, just reminiscing about Shanghai, laughing and watching the world go by at Breadtop! Thanks to Bhong, we now talk in a currency known as "Dumplings" and GDP - Gross Dumplings Product! haha, "OMG this AUD 1 donut is actually worth 10 Dumplings in Shanghai!!"

To Xia, for spending the birthday eve with me, am glad our friendship lasted as long as now, you're one of my first International friends from Uni!

To Noelle, for the beautiful clover necklace and sweet notes of wishes accompanying it! We must spend more time together alright, enjoy ur ski trip!

To Jian, for the spending the birthday eve as well with me in Max Brenners and your precious gift - My first ever perfume - Harajuku Lovers Fragrance! And for being a listener, and for your generous advice and care.. And that shoulder to cry/rely on.. Love you.

To Jia Yen, Pei Wen, MC, Andrea, Chen Hao, Jeremy, Kwee Loong, Kuan Jhun, Vern and Wai Kit, for the birthday dinner at Crowns Casino - definitely a different experience, having to take pictures cautiously lest we get caught by security! It was awesome company, food, "speed-dating" lol, psychology tests (the Z - sex addicts haha), bunny ears picture etc! And for the after-drinks at Trunk, thanks MC for the Apple Bramble and Wai Kit, for the beer (though I only had a few sips haha). Sorry I was so depressed after the drink, I told you guys, alcohol is no spirit-lifter for me. Now you believe me! I think I kept talking about being heartbroken. haha. And to the gals for organising the dinner and allowing me to stay over the night! And to Jia Yen and Pei Wen, for your gifts and Andrea, for the birthday cake! THANKS!

Daddy says, birthday is also a day to reflect.

I have to say, I am a blessed person with allthe love and care from family and friends, and a life that has been nothing but blissful. Surely I go through ups and downs, just like everyone else, but never alone, never for long. Sometimes I wonder how lucky I am to earn these blessings..

I hope to be a better person:
1. Be stronger mentally,
2. Love and laugh more, and
3. Spread the love - stay in touch with loved ones and always give a helping hand!

Personal goals -
1. Studies - cruise through my final sem with upmost spirit!
2. Career - be more proactive!
3. Health - errr.. exercise more?

Birthday Wish:
1. Me + family + friends find happiness always.
2. Undisclosed..

Memorable Day

15 February 2007 (Friday)

It all started with Kah Chong suggesting to meet up as he didn't have lessons on Fridays. All the better as he drives and hence resolves my transportation problem! Thanks a lot!

KC, i must say here, you have a spacious and comfortable car! lol. Next, we went to pick Chun Min from her home in SS2 and headed to Kayu's for breakfast (11am). CM and I had roti pisang and KC had roti telur. Yummy, my last mamak food before I leave! Not having a decent conversation with them for some time, we managed to update each other. CM has such a fascinating yet stressful course (Hotel Management)! It's gratifying to be able to catch up on their lives in a short morning.

At 12.15pm, we went to Chun Min's house. While waiting for her to change into her uniform, KC and I chatted about faiths in Devas and Taoism practices, such as mediums, "Foo" and his parent's surprising yet amazing efforts to bore a baby boy (him, after three older sisters and before one younger sister). Soon, Chun Min was in her "service" uniform and we had many camwhore attempts, and my camera, was as usual, difficult to operate.

This isn't the best, shall just make do ahahha. CM and KC, send the pictures to me ya!

Notice CM's green eyeshadow! =p

After that, we then sent CM to Taylor's School of Hospitality and on the way, we were teasing her of her "roughness", which she claims inevitable in her tourism industry. We were rolling out of laughter on such irony.

But the fact is, according to CM , who has been exposed to the harsh reality during industrial training, they must be remain polite, gentle and courteous when facing demanding and double-faced managers and guests. Thus, over the time, this has taken a toll on her, and the only way she can get back at them is to "curse" them behind their backs! LOL! CM, jusk joking k, you are still our old adorable CM!

We dropped her at her school and we embraced. Good bye, CM, all the best, I hope when I'm back, I still have the chance to be served in your school restaurant. Stay you!

***********************************************************************************

Next, our destination was Taylor's Main Campus. At the school gate, we picked Leying, Sixuan and Wai Yuen, and headed to As You Like It.

There, we met other CHS friends who are coincidentally there, Eng Joe, Nian Ying, Meng Kit, Lydia, Khai Rong, Alvin, Zhen Qiang, Keat Hong and Wen Chao, if not mistaken.

Leying, Xiao Wei, Yan Sheng, Sixuan, Kah Chong, Wai Yuen and I took a table opposite them and we started ordering food. Yan Sheng recommended this Sour and Sweet chicken Wantan Mee with Garlic sauce, and I took it, but chose the Soya sauce over Garlic. Sorry to say this, but the food SUCKS!

BUT, A TERRIBLE MEAL can turn out to be the best food too, with a little help. Thanks to Wai Yuen, who suggested I dip all my whole plate of SALTY wan tan mee into the soup to "cleanse" it. The pure soup turned BLACK! But, the new mee tasted just nice! And that Sweet and Sour chicken was nothing but DIABETIC SUGAR. Many thanks to Leying who "donated" her soup and the "cleansing" process took place again. YUM! All hail the new recipe!

The company was wonderful, especially with close friends whom I haven't been in close contact for the past year. We talked about everything under the sun, gossips, couple updates, A-levels, friends, family etc.

Xiao Wei thinks I would find an Ang Moh bf in Australia, and I deem possible if "he" loves rice, has no previous ang moh gf and is a virgin. Which brings it to IMPOSSIBLE. But, they insists that nothing is impossible. Oh well haha.

I don't feel like leaving anymore and I told them that. Wai Yuen says that all will be okay after I go through a severe "grieving". XW and Ly too agreed and encouraged me to express all I want then, and later start anew in Australia, whitout shedding a tear. I felt so warm at heart and I would certainly adhere to their advice, if only I am in control.

Khai Rong's table joined us for a while, and they joked about valentine's and dating. lol. Such jokes lightens up the atmosphere and I felt as if it's CHS or even 3A2 all over. Which makes me more emotional within. They left shortly and wished me all the best. Thanks!

We then proceeded with our gossips and jokes butted in once in a while, sending us all roaring. We even played with the "Disney Basketball Game", which was simply entertaining for us "kids". We finally called it a day and left to pay. Thanks to KC for treating me and to others, for the very memorable lunch. I treasure and will look back at those times with such significance in the future.

Later, KC gave me a white rose! Thanks so much! He says he chose white as he feels it's a nicer colour than others, and he hopes that I will remain "pure" in thinking. Thank you!! You are so sweet..

Hahaha.. I'm not perasan ok?

But it's my FIRST TIME RECEIVING FLOWERS in my 18 years of life! hehehe.. =)

Leying, Xiao Wei and I took Rapid KL back to Kelana Jaya as I didn't want to trouble Kah Chong. But hey, thanks for driving me around and treating me both breakfast and lunch that day! Really appreciate it. All the best in your A-levels and that. *winks*

On our way back home, Leying, XW and I continued chatting about our courses, future and friends. And that lucky couple who sounded like a match-make in heaven, a Valentine's cruise dinner! Lol, but we concluded that girls like us would enjoy simpler pleasure better (consoling ourselves). Thank you girls! Talking to you all relives many happy memories in CHS, being so 38, we enjoyed ourselves tremendously. =)

Later that evening, I had farewell phone calls from KC, Wei Han and Mengs. It's indeed saddening that soon after when you have all completed A levels, it would be more difficult for us all to meet in the same country at the same time.. Let's keep in touch.. ='(

One more surprise revealed itself that night. I went back to UK English Training Centre to bid my friends and Teacher Jo goodbye. I managed to catch up a little with Sharmaine, Abigail and Samuel.

Teacher Jo : "Have fun, don't just work!"

And Rachael gave me this..

A scrapbook concerning our friendship since we were kids. All our fun-filled outings, trips and games. And autographs from our mutual friends and teacher. And of course, summaries of..

Famous Five's Adventure

Thank you, Rach, it warmed my heart to have you as my childhood best friend. You remembered almost everything we have done together and have intricately incapsulate it in this beautiful scrapbook. You make me feel good of myself, when you are my true motivator in Famous Five. No words can further express my heartfelt gratitude.

I wont't forget to keep in touch..

Thank you all, it's my blessing to have you all as my caring friends..

Thank you!
